Chelsea’s search for a new central defender continues and it does not look to be getting any better for Mourinho.
According to Simon Jones of the Mail Online, Mourinho has had an enquiry for PSG defender Marquinhos turned away from the French giants. Chelsea have lined up several alternative targets to John Stones, including Aymen Abdennour who has joined Valencia and Ezequiel Garay of Zenit St Petersburg.

Marquinhos, 21, has been tipped as one of the brightest young defenders in Europe and has featured at both centre-back and right-back for PSG. Something that may please Chelsea fans, given Branislav Ivanovic’s recent form.
However, according to the report, the enquiry from the Premier League champions was swiftly turned away. Club president, Nasser Al Khelaifi is believed to have responded with the words ‘not to bother’
The same report suggests that Chelsea could turn their attention to Marseille’s Nicolas N’Koulou if they fail to land preferred targets.
