Another game in this Premier League season for the Blues and yet another disappointing performance from Jose Mourinho’s side. This time, the current champions of England took the trip to Merseyside to come up against Roberto Martinez’s Everton. Here’re four things that Read Chelsea found out from the defeat:
Make your chances count:
To put it bluntly, Everton were far more clinical in front of goal than Chelsea were. The visitors did have their chances and it wasn’t until Besic got injured, got brought off and Steven Naismith came on that Mourinho’s men looked in trouble. When chances go begging, you know they’ll come back to bite you – and that they did.

Depth in the midfield is still an issue:
This finding is quite self-explanatory and most Chelsea fans are aware of the issue. Cesc Fabregas, alike the majority of the squad, has been disappointing throughout the start of this season. However, because of the lack of depth we don’t have anyone now that can make an impact once Cesc comes off. We don’t have the Juan Mata’s or Kevin De Bruyne’s anymore and it’s starting to damage us.

Why is Ivanovic still on the team-sheet?
Again, this is a subject that I think that 99% of Chelsea fans will agree with me on. Let’s not get it wrong that over the course of his career here at Stamford Bridge, Branislav Ivanovic has been one of the most important defenders we’ve had. But, all good things must come to an end and the Serbian isn’t performing at the right level to justify still being selected to start. New signing Baba Rahman must be thinking what on earth does he have to do to get a nod. Sorry Iva, but for me and most of the Chelsea fanbase, your time is up.

Poor Loic Remy!
This is another decision that I still don’t see eye to eye with Jose Mourinho on. Think back to when we were dominating week in week out last year when we were playing some proper football and then Diego was injured. In comes Loic Remy, and every time he was called upon, he did his job. So what’s changed Jose? Why isn’t he getting a sniff but you’ll give constant chances to Falcao? Confused.
