Pedro happier following Chelsea switch
Despite sitting 16th in the table, Pedro has revealed his delight at moving to Chelsea following his move from boyhood club Barcelona.
The Spanish international proved to be an integral part of Barcelona’s success during the Pep Guardiola era, with goals and silverware aplenty.
Yet Pedro would find game time limited with the successive signings of Neymar and Luis Suarez in recent transfer windows, forcing the winger to take the plunge and move abroad after eleven years in Catalonia.
Pedro has somewhat impressed in blue, recording two goals and one assist in eight appearances. Speaking with the Spain national team website, Pedro has provided an insight into life at his new club.
When someone gets to play, they gain rhythm, confidence, you’re happier, you try out more things. Leaving Barca was tough for me but I’m happy with the change.
Pedro has also spoken of the role of his fellow Spaniards at Chelsea in easing him into life in a new league and country, including former Barcelona team-mate Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Cesar Azpilicueta.
They’ve been a great support to me.The adaptation has been quicker given I already knew them from here and they’ve treated me very well in the dressing room, showing me how the club works.
Pedro is currently with the Spain squad in Logrono and del Bosque’s men can ensure they will be present to defend their European Championship next summer with a win against Luxembourg in their Group C qualifier on Friday.
However if the improbable does take place and Spain do not win, Pedro and co. will have another chance against Ukraine in Kiev on Monday.
