Chelsea are widening their search for a new striker with the club considering both short and long-term fixes to their problems in attack, according to the Telegraph.
The regular names including Antoine Griezmann and Gonzalo Higuain have all been mentioned in recent weeks, but some new names have made the cut. No ‘big name’ striker are thought to be available until at least the summer, so Chelsea will have to act accordingly.
According to the report, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy is being monitored by Michael Emenalo, but the club are looking for someone with more pedigree. Vardy has shown this season as he hunts down Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s Premier League goal scoring record.

Chelsea could also reportedly consider former Tottenham striker, Emmanuel Abebayor who is a free-agent. Adebayor has worked with Mourinho before, during his time at Real Madrid but is severely lacking fitness after the striker has spent a lot of time in Togo following his release from Tottenham.
Harry Kane is another striker that Chelsea are also thought to be keeping an eye on, however, the England international would not be available until the summer at the earliest.

All of this follows another frustrating performance from Diego Costa in the Champions League. The Spaniard clashed with Mourinho at half-time, but the pair have resolved the issue.
