Chelsea stalwart Branislav Ivanovic is a reportedly a target for Inter Milan and could seal a pre-contract agreement in January.
A regular starter in Chelsea’s back four over the years, the Serbian has produced some of the best performances of the Premier League era for the current champions. However the right back is now in the last year of his contract at Stamford Bridges, having signed in 2008 from Lokomotiv Moscow.
According to the Express, Inter may be willing to offer Ivanovic a lucrative wage which, at the age of 31, may be hard to turn down. Ivanovic has often captained Chelsea in the absence of John Terry, playing a key role in winning the title last season.
Chelsea signed Ivanovic for £9m and he has presented himself as one of the best signings the club has ever made, appearing 328 times and winning nine trophies including three Premier Leagues, one Champions League and one Europa League.
Ivanovic would join fellow Serbians Adem Ljajic and Nemanja Vidic at Inter.
