With Chelsea’s strike force looking depleted, the Blues are reportedly looking to land a double striker swoop for Jackson Martinez and Breel Embolo in January.
According to the Telegraph, both strikers are on Chelsea’s radar. Both Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao are suffering from injuries and Diego Costa has failed to find any consistent form this season.
The bookies have slashed odds on Martinez joining Chelsea in January, with reports saying he could be allowed to leave on loan after failing to make a mark under Diego Simeone.
The striker’s agent has also revealed that Chelsea could have some interest in the striker:
Jackson wants to succeed at Atletico, but it’s the club who will decide his future. I can’t say [Chelsea’s interest] is a lie. This is football and no-one knows what will happen in the future.
FC Basel’s Embolo is thought to be one of the hottest properties in European football. He is valued at £15m after scoring eight in 23 games this season.
The Swiss international can play as a lone striker or can be deployed from the right of a midfield three behind the striker, making him a perfect fit for Chelsea.
