Chelsea battle with City for Championship starlet
Chelsea and Manchester City are set to do battle for one of the Championship’s brightest talents, according to the Independent.
Charlton Athletic’s Ademola Lookman is attracting interest from the Premier League as the Championship side stare down the barrel of relegation to League One.
Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal are all thought to be holding an interest in the player too.
Lookman has scored three goals in seven starts for Charlton this season, making him the club’s joint-top league goal scorer. Despite the Championship strugglers insisting they do not want to sell the striker, he is valued at £5m, something they will have consider as League One football beckons.
The 18-year-old striker is versatile, he able to play as a number 10, as well as playing out wide as a winger. He has 18 months remaining on his contract but is widely expected to leave The Valley.
Lookman has been at Charlton since 2014 after joining from Waterloo FC.
