Teixeira happy to attract Chelsea interest
Alex Teixeira has revealed he is happy to be attracting interest from Chelsea following reports that the Brazilian could be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
According to the Evening Standard, the midfielder believes he needs to move away from Ukrainian side, Shakhtar Donetsk in order to receive a call-up to his national side, Brazil.
He said:
I want to be part of the Brazilian National Team, so I may have to switch clubs. Chelsea? I’m very happy that they’re interested. On my part, I do everything to continue improving.
The playmaker is yet to be capped by Brazil, despite being capped at youth level. He has caught the eye’s of Europe after scoring 26 goals in as many games.
Teixeira has been a long-term target for Chelsea, with contrasting reports emerging that state he could either join in January or arrive later on in the summer, when his valuation could be higher, despite having his manager’s blessing to leave the club.
The Blues were believed to have submitted a £30m bid for the midfielder as they look to bolster their midfield.
