Chelsea are interested in bringing Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka to Stamford Bridge, according to Bild.
However, Chelsea are not the only top European club interested in signing the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, with Bayern and Premier League rivals Arsenal also interested in the Swiss international.
Xhaka made his first team debut for Basel in 2010 making 69 appearances, before moving onto Monchengladbach in the summer of 2012 and he has made 127 appearances over the past four seasons scoring nine goals in the process.
The 23-year-old also has 39 caps for the Swiss national team which included playing at the 2014 World Cup and he has also scored six goals for his national side.
If Xhaka did make the move to join the struggling Premier League champions who currently sit in 14th place just four points above the relegation zone, he would join a side currently well stocked with midfielders, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, John Obi Mikel, Ramires and Nemanja Matic currently competing for the two spots in central midfield.
