Eden Hazard is reportedly in contention to return to the Chelsea first-team this weekend after making progress in his race for fitness ahead of his side’s massive clash against Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.
The Belgian international has been out of action since Chelsea’s crucial 3-0 away victory against Crystal Palace at the start of January, in which he suffered a groin injury that forced him off in the first half.
Hazard returned to full training with the Chelsea squad on Wednesday and interim boss Guus Hiddink has revealed that he would need intense training sessions to be in with a chance of featuring against Arsenal on Sunday.
However, Hazard returned with the rest of the squad today and is looking set to feature against the Gunners.
We have to be a little bit careful not to fall again with a setback. That is why I say he (Hazard) must have some tough, intense training sessions Tuesday to Thursday before he plays.
It has been widely documented that Hazard has struggled to really get off the mark this season for Chelsea, falling way too short of expectations set of the Belgian winger at the start of the season.
The Blues were hoping that Hazard would have another excellent season after taking the crown for PFA player of the season last year, however, it has not gone to plan for Hazard so far. The winger is yet to find the back of the net this season.
