According to Gelderlander, Southampton and Newcastle are both reportedly looking at Todd Kane as a summer transfer target.

The 22-year-old defender is contracted to Chelsea but is currently out on loan in Holland at NEC Nijmegen. This means that any move involving Kane would be withheld until the summer, at least, when he returns to Chelsea.

As well as the two Premier League sides, Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord are also thought to be interested in the defender after the Englishman has made his mark in the Eredivisie.

Kane has been impressing in Holland recently and there has been question marks surrounding the players’ future at Chelsea and whether or not he will make the cut at Stamford Bridge. This could make a permanent switch to another Premier League club the best option for him.

The youngster joined the club at under eight level and is yet to make an appearance for the senior side. He did, however, recently revealed he wanted to give something back to Chelsea.
