Ruben Loftus-Cheek believes that Guus Hiddink’s changes on the training ground have been key to Chelsea’s turnaround under the Dutchman.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Loftus-Cheek explains how the quality of the squad’s training session have helped their run of form.
The midfielder said:
That (form) comes from the training ground, training has been top and I think that’s why we haven’t been losing in this last run of games.
Hiddink is yet to taste defeat during his second spell at Stamford Bridge. Since his arrival, the club are yet to loose and have progressed into the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they will face Manchester City.
Loftus-Cheek has slowly seen more minutes on the pitch under Hiddink as he tries to prove his worth in the current Chelsea squad.
He went on to add:
Hopefully we can keep training well and bring it into games. Every time I play I do my best. Opportunities don’t come around too often so I have to be on my game every opportunity I get and that’s what I try to do.
The England U21 international started against Championship side, MK Dons on Sunday and set up Oscar for his second goal of three goals during the 5-1 win.
Loftus-Cheek will be hoping to impress during the remainder of the season and give the new manager something to think about.
