Matuidi did start against Marseille on Sunday, but he asked to be taken off after feeling a pain in his adductor muscle. The midfielder said this following the club’s 2-1 victory.
I felt a pain in my adductor [muscle], we’ll see how things develop in the next few days. I hope it’s going to be OK.
Someone who didn’t ask to come off against Marseille was David Luiz. The midfielder looked to be in some discomfort during the game but decided to battle on and continue, rather than coming off.
Blanc confirmed after the game that the midfielder was suffering from some pain in his thigh, making him a doubt for the reunion with his former side.
