Chelsea defender, Kurt Zouma has had surgery in Barcelona after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament against Manchester United.
According to the Telegraph, the young defender was treated by the same doctor that dealt with Thibaut Courtois’ injury earlier in the season when the goalkeeper was ruled out for three months with a knee injury.
Zouma was sent to the Clinica Quiron in Barcelona and was operated on by Dr Ramon Cugat on Wednesday.
As well as the Chelsea duo, Dr Cugat has dealt with the likes of Andreas Iniesta and Xavi in the past.
Zouma fell awkwardly during the game against Louis van Gaal’s side and will now miss the remainder of the season as well as missing out on this summer’s Euro 2016 competition, being held in his home country.
The defender will now begin his road to recovery with the full support of the club and the Chelsea fans.
