In-demand Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain rejected a January move to Chelsea according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea reportedly approached the striker in January and were willing to pay in excess of £40million for the Argentian striker.
However, the former Real Madrid man rejected a move to the Premier League after he wasn’t guaranteed to start ahead of Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge.
With both Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy’s futures with the Premier League champions looking bleak, the Blues approached over half a dozen strikers throughout the January window to ease the goalscoring burden on Diego Costa.
Higuain’s goals this season has driven Napoli to the top of Serie A, the striker has scored 24 league goals already this campaign. Those goals also make him the leading goalscorer in Serie A.
Chelsea were successful bringing in one striker in January, the Blues brought in Alexandre Pato on deadline day on loan until the end of the season.
