Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Thiago Motta has labelled Diego Costa as a crazy person on the pitch.

According to the Mirror, Motta claimed that off the pitch, Costa is a very nice and funny person, but it is a completely different scenario during games.

The midfielder said:

He is a very good boy off the pitch. He makes you laugh. But, on the pitch, it is difficult. If you speak to him, you lose focus on the match. That is why I let him talk to himself. You get the impression that he is just a crazy person talking to himself.

Motta, who played with Costa once for the Brazilian national before the striker decided to choose the Spanish national side. Motta also went on to choose the Italian national team later in his career.

The pair met once again in the Champions League this week as PSG seized the advantage in the first of two legs against Chelsea.

The French side take a 2-1 lead into the second leg at Stamford Bridge in three weeks time.

Costa has been enjoying a run of good form since the arrival of interim manager, Guus Hiddink, but the striker missed a clear opportunity in Paris after heading the ball onto the bar in the first-half.
