John Terry has been given until Friday to prove his fitness ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea are looking to give the captain as much time as possible to prove his fitness. Terry missed the club’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Terry returned to training on Tuesday after being forced to limp off against Newcastle after challenging Aleksander Mitrovic in the air.

The defender suffered a hamstring injury, but scans have shown the injury isn’t as serious as it looked.

Chelsea fans will not as worried as they first were about Terry’s injury, and if he doesn’t make it back into the squad for the FA Cup clash after a strong a defensive performance in Paris.

Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic played together at centre-back and the England international admitted that the team showed they can cope without their captain in the starting XI.
