According to the Mirror, new Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola wants his new side to hijack Chelsea’s move for Ajax youngster Riechedly Bazoer.

Chelsea are reportedly already deep into negotiations with the player’s brother and agent Irchandley, who was seen at the club’s training ground last week.

The 19-year-old has previously been compared to former Dutch midfield maestro Frank Rijkaard and is valued at £24m.

Italian coach Antonio Conte is expected to become the new Chelsea boss for next season and Bazoer is someone the club have identified as a top target. However, it was Guus Hiddink who recommended the player.

Napoli have already had a £20m bid knocked back by Ajax for the former PSV youth player. Current Chelsea boss, Hiddink was involved in the club when the midfielder was coming through the ranks.

But Guardiola is also said to be a big fan of Bazoer and could look to him as City aim to rebuild their midfield.

He will hope to persuade his fellow Dutchman to join Chelsea, but the sway of working and learning under Guardiola could be too much to turn down.
