Chelsea have identified Scott Dann as an ideal summer transfer target, according to the Daily Mail.
Reports have suggested that incoming Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola will target John Stones as his first summer signing at the Etihad. Leaving Chelsea to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcement.
The Blues are currently scouting various centre-backs, one of which being Dann. However, Crystal Palace value the defender at £20m, a price that Chelsea aren’t willing to meet because Dann’s sell-on value will not meet that figure.
Chelsea are hoping that Palace will be open to negations on their original asking price.
The 29-year-old has also recently signed a new five-year deal at Selhurst Park, which will not ease Chelsea’s hopes of getting Palace budge on their asking price.
Whilst, according to the Daily Mail’s report, incoming manager, Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on landing Italian duo, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bocunni, however due to their current contracts with Juventus, both are unrealistic targets.
