After Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Norwich City on Wednesday, centre-back Gary Cahill spoke about Kenedy’s opening goal.
The Englishman has been paired with vice-captain Branislav Ivanovic in the centre of Chelsea’s defence for the past four matches due to the injuries of both John Terry and Kurt Zouma, and the two have made for a powerful duo at the back.
Kenedy surprisingly started the match at left-back but put in an impressive shift. The 20-year-old Brazilian got off to a great start when he opened the scoring in the first minute of the game.

On the goal, Cahill told the club’s official website:
It was unbelievable. We wanted to start fast and we couldn’t have started any faster than that. It was a great individual goal, out of nothing really.
The goal was Kenedy’s second ever in a Chelsea shirt and his first ever in the Barclays Premier League.
It spurred the Blues on to have a dominant performance against the Canaries in which they led 2-0 until the 68th minute when Nathan Redmond pulled one back for the home side.
Chelsea ended up holding on and winning the game, following other results in the Premier League, they find themselves 10th in the league table.
