The agent of Alexandre Pato has confirmed that the striker is close to making his Premier League debut for Chelsea.
According to London24, the player’s agent has revealed that the striker is now at the same level of physical fitness as his teammates, meaning it is only a matter of time before Chelsea fans see Pato in action.
Pato was on the bench for the club’s last home against Stoke but didn’t make it on the pitch.
Gilmar Veloz revealed:
It’s not up to Pato. His team has players who were already there, he needs to get a sequence, not to come and play. It’s the manager who decides. It’s a normal situation, where you get to a club which, since we arrived, only wins.
Pato joined the club during the last few days of the January transfer window, on loan from Corinthians until the end of the season.
The Brazilian will be hoping to impress, as Chelsea hold the option to buy the striker at the end of the season.
Since he arrived, he trains with all the group, but only physically. After the third week, he started to get to the level of the others. It’s the second game he travels to. It’s normal, the team is scoring goals.
At the time, several reports suggested that Guus Hiddink was not too keen on bringing the former AC Milan man to the club, but Veloz has denied that.
He went on to say:
There was nothing about it, actually, it’s the opposite, he (Hiddink) received Pato very well, gave an interview talking about the signing. It’s not like here in Brazil, where they arrive and they are picked to play. He was clear: he has to be in the same level as all the others are, to know how the system is, to know how they play.
