Musonda reveals plans for next season
Charly Musonda says his head is set on staying in La Liga with Real Betis next season rather than staying at Chelsea.
According to DHnet.be, who quote Canal, Musonda believes that another season in Spain will be the best for his blossoming football career.
Following the arrival of Guus Hiddink at Chelsea this season, Musonda made the switch to Real Betis on loan during the latter stages of the January transfer window.
Musonda said:
My favourite clubs are in Spain. Since I was little, I’m a fan of Barcelona and Real Madrid. I learned Spanish to be able to come here.
The midfielder has shown his true abilities in La Liga and has impressed in Betis colours. He arrived and eased the club’s relegation threat, the club now sit 11th in the table and Musonda hopes to continue his form next season.
He went on to say he doesn’t want to be a backup player at Stamford Bridge next season.
I want to stay here, it’s in my head now, but we do not know what could happen next year. The future is uncertain, but it is possible that I stay next year. it’s better that I play here in reserve at Chelsea.
The young Belgian recently revealed that he is loving the lifestyle in Spain and even claimed that he has been treated like a rockstar in La Liga.
