Espanyol winger Hernan Perez has revealed it’s his dream to one day play for Chelsea Football Club.
The 27-year-old revealed to Paraguayan newspaper, La Nacion, that he has his eyes set on a future more to Stamford Bridge.
The Paraguayan international joined Espanyol in the summer from Villarreal and has settled into the Barcelona-based club nicely. So far this season, he has scored six games in 25 games for the club.
Perez reveals that the Premier League has always been his ambition, but one specific club in England’s top flight has always caught his eye.
I dream of playing for Chelsea, I always liked them, ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona. If I get to choose, I will not hesitate to go to England.
The news, as you would expect, hasn’t gone down too well in Spain, the player has been forced to defend himself over the comments he had made with regards to his future.
He insisted that he is completely focused on playing for Espanyol. A move to Chelsea looks unlikely in the immediate future, despite a host of names being linked with moves to Stamford Bridge at this point in time.
I would like to clarify to the people that everyone has a dream. I came here to give my best for Espanyol and I prove it with facts, leaving everything on the pitch.
