Antonio Conte has been strongly linked to a move to Stamford Bridge as he officially announced the end of his stint as boss of the Italian national team following the conclusion of Euro 2016.
Conte is searching for a return to club football, leaving him to be constantly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. His recent comments, though, suggest otherwise.
The Evening Standard reports that during his first press conference since the announcement, Conte said:
I’m not tempted by anything in England, because I am still the national coach.
While his first comment seemed to be about keeping the faith of Italy as they head into a difficult competition with Europe’s best, his next statement leaves no room for faith for Chelsea fans.
The Italy boss continued:
I could also start again with an Italian team.

The former Juventus and Atlanta boss’ first words since the announcement of his return to club football were not inspiring for Chelsea fans who are in need of confirming a manager that ensures the club’s future past this dismal season.
Whilst these comments may be out of respect for his current position as Italy manager, it may suggest that all is not yet confirmed as to who will become the next Chelsea boss.
