Andreas Christensen looks set to be a part of Chelsea’s squad next season, despite not knowing who the manager will be.
According to German outlet, Bild, Chelsea will recall the defender, a season early from his agreed two-year loan deal with Borussia Monchengladbach this summer and will send Nathan Ake on loan to the Bundesliga outfit next season.
Christensen has impressed immensely at the heart of the Bundesliga’s side defence this season and his development has benefited by the chance to play in the Champions League.
There is a position up for grabs at Chelsea next season, with John Terry, set to depart the club at the end of the season.
Kurt Zouma is still recovering from knee surgery, leaving the second centre-back spot alongside Gary Cahill available at this moment in time.
Gladbach were thought to be keen on making Christensen’s move permanent, but these reports suggest that he is held in high regard at Chelsea and is very much part of their plans.
