Chelsea midfielder Willian recently admitted that he knows that the fans deserve much better than what the team gave them this past season, according to the Evening Standard who quote the club’s official website.

After a dominant 2014/2015 campaign which consisted of a runaway Barclays Premier League title and a Capital One Cup, the Blues failed to replicate either a year later, coming nowhere close to winning any of the other competitions they were involved in.

Chelsea finished 10th in the league, meaning there will be no Champions League football for them next season as they look to rebuild.

Willian said:

They [the fans] deserve more than they got this season and I hope next season we can win some titles for them. We will have to start better than this season. If we can start the season very well then we can win titles.

The Brazilian claimed Chelsea’s Player of the Year award last week, a testament to his standout season in a year where most of the squad saw an unprecedented dip in form.

Personally I think I have improved this season and that’s something you always have to try and do in football.

However, while Willian is happy with his own personal development, he knows that getting Chelsea back to its winning ways is his top priority come August.

Now I hope next season I can play even better again and we can win some titles.
