Victor Moses has revealed that he’s never dreamt of playing wing-back in his career.
As reported by the Express, Moses admits the success he and Chelsea have been having has come as a surprise even to him.
Moses, who’s naturally more attacking, believes he’s getting better with every game.
I’ve never dreamed of playing in this position in my life, but I’m enjoying it and I think it’s probably one of the best positions to be honest. The more games I’m playing there, the more I’m improving.
I’ve never played this formation before but I’m getting used to it and I feel I’m getting better and better with every game.
Moses returned to the club in the summer after another unsuccessful loan spell away from the club at West Ham, in what was his third temporary move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian international has been one of the many revelations under Italian head coach, Antonio Conte, who spotted Moses’ traits that allow him to fit perfectly into the wing-back role.
After changing to a 3-4-3, Chelsea enjoyed 13 straight wins before losing to Tottenham at White Hart Lane, one game away from the prestigious 14-win record set by Arsenal.
The former Wigan was full of praise for Conte, who looks to be spearheading Chelsea’s title charge this season.
I’m delighted with the way we’re playing, not just me but the whole team, with the formation the manager has brought. He’s played the game and he knows how to organise his players.
Last year was one of the best in my career and I’m delighted with that and it’s thanks to the manager who gave me the opportunity to go out there and express myself.
He gave me that chance, I grabbed it and now I want to keep enjoying my football.
