Andreas Christensen set for Chelsea return
Andreas Christensen will return to Stamford Bridge next season, according to the player’s father.
As reported by Italian outlet, Calcio Mercato, the player’s father has revealed he will return to his parent club, despite rumours of Borussia Monchengladbach planning a permanent move for the player.
Antonio Conte is thought to be keen on seeing the player back at Stamford Bridge as he puts increasing amounts of faith in the club’s younger players.
The report suggests Christensen could be part of Conte’s starting XI next season.
Christensen is half-way through a two-year loan with the German club and that will expire at the end of the season.
The Danish international has impressed immensely during his time in the Bundesliga and was voted the club’s Player of the Year last season.
Chelsea have tried to recall the defender early from his loan spell due to his good form but were unable to after putting no clause in the contract.
During his time there he has had experience playing against the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City in the Champions League.
