Chelsea travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in Saturday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie looking to strengthen their push for a domestic double this season.
Antonio Conte’s men are currently eight points clear at the top of the Premier League and will be looking to extend their impressive run against the Championship side on Saturday, to advance through to the Quarter Finals.
The Blues have won nine of the last ten meetings between the two sides, including a 6-0 League Cup victory in 2012, scoring 30 goals in the process and conceding just four.
Conte has used the FA Cup to experiment with his squad this season and is likely to do so again this weekend.
The Blues have already seen off Bristol Rovers, Peterborough and Brentford in the competition thus far, and will fancy their chances against a Wolves side who have lost four of their last five games in the Championship.
Wolves did stun Liverpool in the last round, however, with a 2-0 victory at Anfield, so it may not be a walk in the park for the Blues this weekend.
Here is who we think Conte will start this weekend.
GK - Asmir Begovic
After failing to force a move away from the Bridge in January, it’s back to being Conte’s cup keeper for Begovic.
He’ll no doubt be desperate for a clean sheet to help Chelsea progress, and ensure himself at least another match this season.
RWB - Ola Aina
After Branislav Ivanovic’s departure in January, Aina seems the next obvious choice for Conte should he look to rest Victor Moses this weekend.
The youngster looked impressive after coming on as a substitute against Brentford, and he’ll be hoping Conte gives him another chance to push for a first team spot this weekend.
CB - Cesar Azpilicueta
John Terry is ruled out with an ankle problem so Azpilicueta looks set to continue, and his experience will help Aina should he start on Saturday.
CB - Gary Cahill
Cahill looks set to lead the troops once again in Terry’s absence.
CB - Kurt Zouma
Another step towards full fitness for Zouma this weekend, following his lengthy spell on the sidelines, and a well-deserved rest for David Luiz.
LWB - Nathan Ake
Ake was brilliant on his return to the first team against Brentford, and he deserves his chance once again this weekend.
CM - N'Golo Kante
Wolves were dangerous on the counter-attack against Liverpool in the last round, and you’d expect Conte to be wary of the Championship side employing a similar tactic this weekend.
Luckily enough for the Chelsea boss, he has one of the best in the game at breaking up counter attacks in Kante, and the midfielder could be in for another busy afternoon this weekend.
CM - Nathaniel Chalobah
It’s been fantastic to watch Chalobah develop as a player this season, and he has impressed each time he has taken to the field.
You can expect Conte to give the 22-year-old another start this weekend.
RW - Cesc Fabregas
Wolves will look to sit back and get numbers behind the ball before launching a counter attack this weekend, so Fabregas’ creativity and ability to unlock a tight defence could prove crucial.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek was excellent against Brentford in the last round in a similar role, so could feel hard done by should Conte drop him, but expect him to feature at some point during the match.
LW - Willian
Willian was another who played brilliantly in the last round against Brentford, and he will need to produce an equally impressive performance if he’s to win his place back in the first team.
ST - Michy Batshuayi
Batshuayi is clearly talented but, despite his late goal against Brentford, looked a striker devoid of all confidence in the last round.
Let’s hope he can produce something special this weekend.
