Middlesbrough lead race for Chelsea striker
Premier League strugglers Middlesbrough are leading the chase to take Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on loan next season.
According to GazetteLive, the Teeside club are heading the que of clubs to sign the forward in the summer, when he returns to Chelsea.
Abraham is currently on loan to Bristol City in the Championship, and has been one of the best players in the division this season.
The 19-year-old has scored 26 goals in all competitions for Bristol City this season, including 23 in the league.
Middlesbrough have only scored 23 in the Premier League all season, which is why they are on the lookout for a centre forward.
The side 19th in the league look set to be playing Championship football next season, and see Abraham as the man to push them back up at the first attempt.
Signing a Chelsea player on loan to push for promotion has already gone down well for ‘Boro once. Patrick Bamford fired them to the play-off final in 2015, before they lost to Norwich at Wembley.
