Chelsea eager to re-sign Ryan Bertrand
Chelsea will reportedly be in the market for wing-back depth in the summer and they could move for one of their former starlets.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are interested in bringing Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand back to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old was bought by Chelsea back in 2005 from Gillingham and developed his game in west London, making his debut for the club in April 2011.
Bertrand made 57 appearances for Chelsea during his time at the club, most notably earning a starting role during the Blues’ Champions League win over Bayern Munich in 2012.
Starved of first-team opportunities, he left for Southampton in February 2015 for a reported £11.3m following an impressive loan spell on the south coast.
Southampton have a reputation for being a bit of a selling club in recent years and would consider cashing in on the 12-time England international this summer if they receive an offer in excess of £20m.
