Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been given a £200million transfer budget ahead of this summer and is hoping to spend roughly £43million of it on Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, as per a report in the Telegraph.
The 22-year-old is just one of a number of players being linked with a move away from Monaco after their amazing campaign. The French side claimed their first league title in 17 years this season and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, playing some wonderful football along the way.
Bakayoko has been one of the key men in their side and it looks like Chelsea are keen to do a deal to sign him this summer. The report indicates that the Blues would also like to sign his teammate Thomas Lemar, but Monaco are not willing to let both players leave, so Chelsea will focus their efforts on getting Bakayoko.
Michy Batshuayi, the man whose goal against West Brom secured Chelsea’s title win, could reportedly go the other way as part of the deal, either on loan or permanently.
