Diego Costa hopes Chelsea sign Romelu Lukaku
Diego Costa has given the clearest indication that Everton striker Romelu Lukaku could be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
According to the Independent, Costa says he hopes Chelsea can sign the Belgian this summer, claiming he is ‘a big player’.
When asked about the potential signing of the Everton striker, Costa responded: “Of course Lukaku is a very big player who played an impressive season. I hope he can sign at Chelsea because it’s a unique club.”
Reports have linked Lukaku with a return to Stamford Bridge, where he could replace Costa himself, who once again is being linked with a move away from the club.
Both Atletico Madrid and clubs from China are believed to be in the running to sign the player this summer, who’s situation at Chelsea appears to be changing week by week.
The Spanish international has thrown more doubt into his future by admitting that he could leave this summer.
“Batshuayi may stay because he’s young and I could be leaving,” Costa explained.
