Chelsea target Leonardo Bonucci hints at leaving Juventus

Leonardo Bonucci has hinted at leaving Juventus in a Facebook post, as Chelsea and Manchester City both chase his signature.

After Juventus’ embarrassing 4 – 1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final at the weekend, Bonucci took to Facebook to write;

The disappointment in there, it’s real. We thought and believed that this would be our time. Unfortunately it wasn’t the case. Congratulations to Real Madrid for the win. I am still proud to have been a part of this group.

Bonucci went on to say;

A round of applause goes to you, the fans. You always are, you’ve always been and you always will be there, in victory and in defeat.

Juventus fans first grew concerned that Bonucci was soon to leave earlier this season when the player made it clear that he would consider any offer from a big club, despite having just signed a new deal keeping him at the club until 2021.

Fans of the Serie A champions have interpreted the defender’s recent Facebook post as further evidence that he may be leaving the Italian giants this summer, with both Chelsea and Manchester City strongly linked.

Calciomercato report that Chelsea are ready to offer £7million a year in wages to the 30-year-old and £52million to Juventus for the player’s services.

Conte targeted a move for the defender last summer but was unable to agree with Juventus on a suitable fee for the player.

The Metro reports that the 30-year-old is also wanted at Manchester City by Pep Guardiola who is a long-term admirer of the defender.
