Chelsea make fresh contact with Bayern for Boateng
It’s well-documented that Chelsea are eager to sign a centre-back or two this summer, especially with Nathan Ake likely heading to Bournemouth and Kurt Zouma expected to complete a loan move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus, while a deal for Southampton star Virgil van Dijk is far from being agreed.

Antonio Conte has now begun assessing other targets and according to Sky Italy, Chelsea have contacted Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for Jerome Boateng.
The Daily Mail have reported that Chelsea did make an enquiry for Boateng last month, but it never developed beyond that, with Spanish source Don Balon claim that Boateng is hoping to push through a move to La Liga champions Real Madrid.
News of a second approach for the German international comes after Les Reed told Sky Sports that van Dijk will not be leaving St. Mary’s this summer, which could have perhaps prompted Chelsea into asking again for Boateng.
Regarded as one of the game’s finest centre-backs, Chelsea would have to pay a huge fee to prise him away from Bayern Munich, that’s if they’re even open to selling him.
