Alvaro Morata already has two Champions League winners medals to his name but he’s not satisfied with that and insists that he is desperate to win a third title with Chelsea.
The Spanish striker won the trophy with Real Madrid in 2014 and 2017 and wants to make it a hat-trick this year with his new club.
As reported by the Evening Standard, he said:
I have lived through the experience of playing in this competition with both Juventus and Real Madrid – and I have won titles. This season I am playing to win again. It will be a special success for me if we can do it. I have won a lot but I want to win more. My dream is to score a lot of goals here and to win titles with Chelsea. That’s why I left Madrid and accepted the offer here. I want to be ambitious.
Chelsea get their campaign underway with a home tie against Azerbaijan’s champions FK Qarabag on Tuesday night; a game that the Blues are expected to win comfortably.
Group C will be far from easy for Chelsea with Roma and Atletico Madrid also competing to get through to the knockout stages so it is vital for the Blues to get off to a good start and get the job done against Qarabag.
