Chelsea are expected to ring the changes for this week’s Champions League clash with Qarabag, the Telegraph report.
The two headline names expected to be rested in midweek are striker Alvaro Morata who has netted three goals already for the Blues following his £70m move from Real Madrid, and attacking midfielder Eden Hazard who is yet to start a game this season after suffering an ankle injury in the summer.
Qarabag are the clear weak-link in Chelsea’s Champions League group that also features Roma and Atletico Madrid, and with an eye on the weekend visit of Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte is ready to rest his two star men.
After missing out on Fernando Llorente who joined Tottenham on Deadline Day, Chelsea are expected to start Michy Batshuayi up front in place of Morata.
One player who did arrive on Deadline Day was Davide Zappacosta and the former Torino standout is set to make his first start after coming off the bench in the win at Leicester last week.
Gary Cahill is also poised to start after missing the last three Premier League games through suspension and Andreas Christensen may also be in line to start.
