Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has set his sights on reaching the Champions League final this season.
The forward has been to the final of Europe’s most prestigious competition with both Juventus and Real Madrid and is looking for his hat-trick.
Chelsea had an excellent start to their group on Tuesday as they convincingly swept aside Qarabag, with success for other English teams too.
Chelsea boasted the biggest victory, beating Qarabag 6-0 at Stamford Bridge, equalling their best ever Champions League result.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Morata said this:
It’s an incredible competition. With all the teams I’ve played for in the Champions League I have reached the final and I hope to do so this year too. It’s very difficult to win the Champions League but I think we have a good team, and with a good mentality we can do good things.
Pedro, Davide Zappacosta, Michy Basthuayi, Cesar Azpilicueta and Tiemoue Bakayako all scored for the Blues, with an own goal rounding off the scoring.
Chelsea are the last English team to have won the Champions League. They beat Bayern Munich on penalties in 2012, with no English team coming close to repeating that feat.
