Chelsea looking at Ghanaian striker Boakye
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is rumoured to be weighing up a move for Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye to bolster the Blues attacking options, the Daily Star report.
The Ghanaian international has enjoyed a fine start to the campaign, especially in front of goal, already finding the back of the net 10 times and providing three assists in his 16 appearances so far.
Boakye, 24, and Conte know each other from the pairs time at Juventus, with the Italian sending Boakye out on loan twice in Conte’s two-year spell at the Italian giants.
The Chelsea boss has reportedly lined up scouts to watch the striker in action next week when Red Star entertain Arsenal in the Europa League.
With Diego Costa heading to Atletico Madrid in January, Conte is becoming frustrated with his attacking options and only has two recognisable strikers in his ranks in Michy Batshuayi and Alvaro Morata, who sustained a hamstring injury against Manchester City, and is set to be sidelined for seven matches.
