Rafinha’s father plays down Chelsea rumours
Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is not interested in moving away from the Spanish La Liga giants as Chelsea show interest in securing his signature, according to the player’s father as reported on Talksport.
The midfielder is currently ruled out of action due to a knee injury but Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea have still registered their interest in signing him.
However, the player’s father Mazinho has revealed that his son is extremely content with being at Barcelona and is not considering a move away from the Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old has been linked several times with a move away from the club but is now reportedly settled at the club and wants his future in a Barcelona shirt.
Mazinho said:
Our concern is that he recovers, that he can return to a football pitch. We haven’t talked to anyone because with an injured player, it’s difficult to negotiate anything with other clubs.
Besides, we have no interest [in leaving] either. We have a contract with Barca.
Rafinha’s fine, he’s recovering, carrying out his work, and he’ll be back soon. I’ve had a perfect relationship with Barca since 2005 and I have no complaints.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his squad in January after already falling behind the pace-setters Manchester City and Manchester United.
But it seems that Conte will have to look elsewhere as Rafinha is currently out of reach.
