Conte blasts Chelsea’s busy schedule
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has hit back at the Premier League’s decision to schedule his side’s trip to Liverpool for next Saturday, the Evening Standard reports.
The Blues face a gruelling couple of months, with several games to be played.
On Wednesday, they take on Qarabag away from home in what is a vital Champions League clash. The Blues will return home in the early hours of Thursday, leaving little time to prepare for Saturday’s evening kick off away at Liverpool.
This has evidently angered Conte, who has blasted the Premier League’s scheduling for his side as abnormal.
We play Qarabag on Wednesday, we get back to London at 5am or 6am on Thursday and then have a game against Liverpool on Saturday. Is this normal? I don’t think so.
If people want more balance in this league they must pay great attention when preparing the fixtures.
Chelsea are in a good run of form and continued their impressive spell with a 4-0 win away at West Brom on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Alvaro Morata, Marcos Alonso and a brace from Eden Hazard helped the Blues to another important victory.
The attention now turns to Qarabag, who will be out to claim a famous scalp against the reigning Premier League champions.
