Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has sent a warning to playmaker Eden Hazard over the style of his penalties after the cheeky ‘Panenka’ against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in the 3-1 victory, according to a report on West London Sport.
Hazard netted a brace on Saturday to help Chelsea keep up the pace with title rivals Manchester United and Manchester City.
The penalty showed the confidence of Hazard at the moment, who has recently found the form of last season as he led the Blues to the Premier League title.
However, Conte believes that goalkeepers may have extra motivation to stop the Belgian’s penalties if he tries something similar again.
Next time he must have a great attention as the goalkeeper will study the players that take the penalties. For me the most important thing to do is to score and it happened.
The Blues remain 11 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City but have found form recently.
Hazard has been deployed in a new position by Conte which has worked wonders for the London club. Hazard partners Alvaro Morata up front and has the freedom to roam around the pitch.
The Blues face Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at Stamford Bridge and can claim top spot in their group with a win over the Spanish club.
