Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted that his relationship with controversial defender David Luiz is healthy.
As quoted by the Evening Standard, the Chelsea boss was quizzed on his bond with Luiz and was asked to deliver an update on his current physical condition.
Why do you ask this question? Two weeks ago, then it was the past, then he played against Qarabag. If you don’t trust what I tell it’s your problem not my problem.
Luiz has been nursing a knee injury, with Conte recently confirming that the Brazilian has sat out of training as a result of fluid in his knee. The former PSG man will not be available when Chelsea take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
David is out. This problem with his knee, trying to solve this situation. He’s out.
The Blues boss has used Luiz rather sporadically this season. It’s stated that the defender questioned Conte and his tactical approach following the team’s 3-0 defeat to Roma, leading to the pair’s relationship becoming rather rocky.
Luiz has played on just one occasion since this alleged bust-up, which has not been helped by his recent injury troubles.
Despite this, though, Conte insists that there is no problem between him and Luiz.
