Courtois confirms he could leave Chelsea for Spain
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed that he will consider any offers from Spain to leave Stamford Bridge.
As reported by the London Evening Standard, the Belgian says that his family situation is at the forefront of his mind as he ponders over a new deal at the club.
Everybody knows that due to my personal situation, Spain attracts me. If it is not now, it will be in some years.
I’m happy at Chelsea. I just want to wait (over contract talks) because now there are many games and I prefer to have my head focused on that.
The Blues are desperate to tie down Courtois to a new deal with just 18 months remaining on his current contract.
Both of Courtois’ children are living in Spain, the country that shot-stopper spent three years on loan at.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Courtois for some time, while local rivals Atletico Madrid could also look to re-sign their former loan star.
Real are weighing up moves for Kepa Arrizabalaga and David De Gea, while Atletico face the prospect of losing Jan Oblak to Paris Saint-Germain.
Should the latter move on, Atletico would have the necessary funds to complete a move to re-sign Courtois.
