Chelsea put in a really disappointing performance as they were beaten by West Ham by one goal to nil this lunchtime at the Olympic stadium.
Chelsea came into the game in great form having not lost in the league for over two months since losing to Crystal Palace but suffered a setback today.
West Ham attacker Marko Arnautović impressed throughout and scored the goals only game in the seventh minute to consign the Blues to defeat.
Chelsea created very little throughout and Spanish striker Alvaro Morata was forced to feed on scraps on what proved to be a tough afternoon for the London club at the Olympic stadium.
It goes without saying that it was a highly anticipated game and one that held immense importance. The Hammers were able to comfortably win, making for a much more relaxed upcoming week.
Here are five findings we can take from the game.
Chelsea struggle after Europe
The Blues found it difficult to compete after going through a tough match during the week against Atletico.
Conte made just one change from that game and this contributed to their flat performance.
Moses is key for Blues
Chelsea weren’t the same without Moses down that right flank he’s a constant threat and really makes them tick when he plays.
He claimed two assist last weekend and really missed his pace and creativity down the right side.
To much pressure on front two
Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata have both been different level for Chelsea this season and without them at the top of their games then the Blues are a different side.
Both were well below their best today and will be looking to make a menses when they travel to Huddersfield on Tuesday evening.
Bakayoko is a lose cannon
The Frenchman was well below par today and didn’t look at all comfortable in the midfield and this is something which the hosts exploited during the game.
He was replaced at half-time after a woeful first-half and Chelsea really need him to start being more consistent if they are to do anything this season.
Conte needs to adjust tactics
Antonio Conte feels as though he has found the right system but, he also needs to learn that when it goes wrong he needs to be able to adapt.
He rarely changes formation when it isn’t going his way and this is something he should look at particularly when playing against stubborn well organised sides like West Ham were today.
With a trip to Huddersfield and a visit from Southampton in their next two games this is something Conte will need to be mind-full of.
