Antonio Conte Admits That Chelsea are Out of the Title Race
After Chelsea’s lacklustre performance against West Ham, Antonio Conte says his side are out of the title race.
The Blues suffered their fourth defeat of the season to an underperforming West Ham side which has left them trailing 11 points behind Man City who are taking the league by force this season.
Marko Arnautovic’s sixth-minute goal earned his side the three points in a full London Stadium.
Conte said:
If you want to stay in the race you need continuity in results. This is not our case. If you lose four games in 16 you’re not in the race.
Unfortunately for the Blues, they haven’t been able to find the form that helped them storm to the premier league title last season.
This was a must-win game for the Blues against a West Ham side who were without a win in eight games before their shock victory over Chelsea.
At the beginning of the season, Antonio Conte admitted that it would be a difficult season and a challenge to retain the Premier League title.
Chelsea need to bounce back Tuesday night when they face Huddersfield away if they want to stay within touching distance of the top two Manchester clubs.
