Chelsea, Madrid and Barca interested in Arthur
Chelsea face strong competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona for Brazilian talent Arthur, according to Sports Illustrated.
Arthur, 21, has caught they eye of the reigning Premier League champions, along with Real Madrid and Barcelona as the midfielder looks set to leave Brazil in either the January or summer transfer window.
The midfielder played a huge role in Gremio’s Copa Libertadores success in November, and shrugged off rumours that he has already signed a pre-agreement contract with Barcelona in the previous weeks.
It has been reported that Real Madrid will be keeping a close eye on the player when they face Gremio in the final of the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
However, despite strong European interest, the Blues believe they can persuade the midfielder to join the Premier League over La Liga, linking up with fellow Brazilian’s Willian, Kenedy and David Luiz at Stamford Bridge.
