Arsenal to battle Chelsea for Leon Bailey
Chelsea face competition from Arsenal for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to a report from the Mirror.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with the player with concerns over the immediate future of both Willian and Michy Batshuayi.
Arsenal have joined the race to sign him after becoming increasingly worried over the long-term futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil and have put the youngster at the top of their priority.
The midfielder only moved to the club in January 2016 from Genk for £12 million and has been a great success since joining the club which has but the two clubs on red alert.
After a slow start to life in Germany Bailey has helped Leverkusen push for a top-four finish in the Bundesliga and his performances are not going unnoticed.
Arsene Wenger feels that he can bring the player to the Emirates for as little as £15 million, while Chelsea boss Antonio Conte sees him as Willian’s long-term replacement at the club.
