Portuguese side Belenenses are closing in on the signing of Chelsea attacking midfielder Nathan on a loan deal, according to reports from the Portuguese media, cited by Sport Witness.
Nathan, 21, was signed by Chelsea from Atletico Paranaense in a deal worth up to €4m deal in 2015, however, Nathan may be a player many Blues fans haven’t heard of.
The midfielder is still waiting for the nod from manager Antonio Conte to stay around the Chelsea first team, as he hasn’t been given the opportunity to make a go of his career at Stamford Bridge as of yet.
The Brazilian made 45 appearances over the course of a two-year loan spell at Dutch side Vitesse, scoring six goals in the process, and now is set to test himself in the Portuguese top division with Belenenses, who are currently 11th in the league.
The youngster’s contract with Chelsea runs until 2020, so an impressive loan spell in Portugal could pave the way into Conte’s plans for the future.
