Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown, who is on loan at fellow Premier League side Brighton, is set to miss the remainder of the season through injury as reported by BBC Sport.
The Chelsea star limped off in the opening stages of his sides FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace on Monday evening in what appeared to be a knee injury.
The injury was confirmed today as a serious knee ligament injury which will result in the Chelsea academy prospect missing the remainder of the season.
He will return back to Chelsea where he will complete his rehab from the injury in the hope of being able to return in preseason whether that’s out on loan or with the Chelsea first team.
Brown has been out on loan at various different clubs and helped to play a key role in fellow promotion sides Huddersfield Town’s progress last season as they came up via the playoffs last season.
The player highlighted his frustration in a social media post following the news.
Not the news I wanted. I will come back fitter and stronger and hopefully be ready for next season.”
